Mark Mackey of Mackey Opticians is very happy to be part of the Spend Local NI Executive’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery programme – “It has been a very busy eighteen months since the start of the pandemic. We were able to stay open throughout the first “lock-down” offering emergency eyecare and delivering spectacles and contact lenses to our patients’ doors despite the pressures of lack of PPE provision during the early weeks. Thankfully some of our dental colleagues were able to help in the early days – especially important as they had closed normal eye casualty services and we had large numbers of unusual eye conditions to see under the NIPEARS scheme. 

Since July 2020 our practices have slowly tried to get back to some sort of normality although we still require people to book visits in advance – you can phone for a spectacle dispensing if you would like to come and browse our spectacles without an eye examination, or to discuss any of the options listed above. You can use the card against any purchase – eye examinations, spectacles, sunglasses or contact lenses and we will be very happy to boost the card payment with an extra £30 discount as explained.
